Cy-Fair, Langham Creek advance in Division II football playoffs

Nov. 26, 2017—Two CFISD playoff teams won their area-round playoff games over the weekend to advance to the regional semifinal round Dec. 1-2.

Cy-Fair defeated Strake Jesuit, 17-0, in an area-round matchup on Nov. 24 at Legacy Stadium in Katy. The Bobcats improve to 11-0 on the season and advance to face Friendswood (9-3) at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 at TDECU Stadium (3874 Holman St.) on the University of Houston campus.

Langham Creek beat Katy Taylor, 35-14, in the area round Nov. 24 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. The Lobos improve to 10-1 on the season and will face Kingwood (6-5) at noon on Dec. 2 at TDECU Stadium.

Pre-sale tickets for both playoff games will be sold for $6 (students) and $8 (adults) Tuesday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. At Cy-Fair, tickets will be sold at the finance office. At Langham Creek, tickets will be sold at the cafeteria. Visitors must check in at the front office.

Tickets can also be purchased at the CFISD athletic department office (8877 Barker Cypress Road, entrance 2) Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

All pre-sale tickets will be sold for cash only.

Tickets at the TDECU Stadium gate are $12 per person (students and adults). There will be no charge for parking. Both Cy-Fair and Langham Creek will serve as the home teams.

In other playoff action in the area round, Cypress Ranch finished its season with a 55-7 loss to Katy in the Division I bracket on Nov. 25 at NRG Stadium. The Mustangs end the year as the third-place District 17-6A finishers and area finalists.
