Cypress Creek High School launches Wall of Fame project

December 18, 2012

Dec. 18, 2012—Cypress Creek High School will acknowledge the outstanding lifetime achievements and significant contributions of Cypress Creek graduates when it launches the Wall of Fame project this spring.

Chaired by former Cypress Creek principal Jim Wells, a committee comprised of current and former principals, counselors and various Cypress Creek staff is soliciting nominations of prospective inductees to be reviewed for consideration.

The Wall of Fame will recognize former students dating back to the opening of Cypress Creek in the 1976-1977 school year. The mark made by former Cougars will be considered in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

  • athletics; performing and visual arts; humanitarian efforts; military service; business and industry; politics and government; health science and medicine; research and development; and technology.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2013. The final selections will be made after this date, and all chosen honorees will be formally recognized during an inaugural induction ceremony scheduled for Friday, March 22, 2013 at Cypress Creek.

The committee will continue to seek nominations of new prospects, review past prospects and choose subsequent inductees on a once-yearly basis.

Cypress Creek High School principal Sandy Trujillo said that, in addition to honoring former students for achievements, the Wall of Fame will provide visual reminder of quality role models for current students to appreciate.

"I am excited to be part of such an important endeavor as we work to identify the outstanding individuals who have gone on to make their mark in the world,” Trujillo said.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the Cypress Creek High School website. Please return completed forms to:
