Cypress Ranch tennis team advances to regional quarterfinals

Oct. 22, 2018—The Cypress Ranch High School tennis team successfully advanced past the first two rounds of postseason competition and moves on to face Round Rock Westwood in the Class 6A Region II quarterfinals, which will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Bryan Rudder High School.

The Mustangs, who won their fourth outright district championship and fifth overall this season, defeated Round Rock McNeil 10-0 in the bi-district round and beat The Woodlands College Park 10-3 in the area round to advance.

CFISD had two teams advance to the area round as Cy-Fair High School, the No. 2 seed from District 17-6A, defeated Houston Westside 10-1 in the bi-district round before falling to Fort Bend Clements 10-4 in area play.

Bridgeland and Cypress Falls high schools also reached postseason competition and were defeated in the bi-district round.

Bridgeland, the third seed from 14-6A, lost to Austin Vandegrift 10-1. Cypress
Falls, the fourth seed from 17-6A, lost to Houston Lamar 10-7.
