District 14-6A boys’ basketball players earn 2018-2019 league honors

March 6, 2019—District 14-6A boys’ basketball coaches recently released the 2018-2019 All-District 14-6A Boys’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Ranch High School senior Delor Johnson was named the district’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 19.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this season. Cypress Springs High School senior Bonke Maring (13.8 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.2 blocks per game) was named Defensive Player of the Year. Langham Creek High School junior Devion Jackson (9.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg) was named the district’s Newcomer of the Year.

Cypress Springs Head Coach Larry Boykin was named Coach of the Year after leading the Panthers to a share of the district championship.
