District 17-6A girls’ basketball players earn 2018-2019 league honors

Feb. 27, 2019—District 17-6A girls’ basketball coaches recently released the 2018-2019 All-District 17-6A Girls’ Basketball Team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Jersey Village High School senior Kaylynne Truong was named the district’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game this season. Cypress Creek High School earned two superlatives with Kyndall Hunter being named Offensive Player of the Year and fellow sophomore Rori Harmon being named Defensive Player of the Year.

Memorial High School’s Mackenzie McKown was named Newcomer of the Year.

Jersey Village Head Coach Tamara Collier was named the Coach of the Year after leading the Falcons to the district championship.
