Oct. 26, 2018—Eleven CFISD marching bands advanced to the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest after earning high marks at the Region 27 Marching Contest on Oct. 20 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. The region competition was hosted by the Cypress Ranch High School band program.
The Class 6A varsity band programs compete in an alternating-year schedule for the opportunity to qualify and participate in the UIL State Marching Band Contest, set for Nov. 5-7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The Area I Contest will be held at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 27. Marching bands from Alief, Houston, Katy and Spring Branch school districts will join CFISD qualifiers.

The following CFISD marching bands advanced to the area competition (performance time):
Following the preliminary round, 10 finalists will return to perform in the evening, with the finals to begin at 7:15 p.m.

General admission is $5 (cash only) for the area competition.
A clear bag policy will be enforced at Legacy Stadium. Clear backpacks, clear totes and clear storage bags are allowed with no size restrictions. Non-transparent purses and bags must be limited to approximately 4 ½” x 6 ½”. An exception will be made for medically necessary items.
