The Cypress Woods High School production of Oslo by J.T. Rogers advanced from the University Interscholastic League District 14-6A One-Act Play competition. Cypress Woods joins Cypress Ranch High School in advancing to the Bi-District Contest, to be held March 28 at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville.
March 22, 2019—Five CFISD productions advanced from District 14-6A and District 17-6A One-Act Play competitions on March 19 to qualify and advance to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Bi-District One-Act Play contests.

Cypress Ranch senior Ryan Cowhey was named Best Actor in the District 14-6A competition. In 17-6A, Cypress Creek senior Olivia Pruitt was awarded Best Actress and Cypress Ridge senior Efrain Gonzalez was named Best Actor.

The Cypress Ridge High School production of The Book of Everything by Richard Tulloch joins productions from Cypress Creek and Jersey Village high schools in advancing to the Bi-District Contest, to be held March 27 at the Berry Center.
Cypress Ranch students Lizzy Carrillo, Joshua Clewis, Jessica Forristall, Makenna Leese, Austin Romero were awarded District 14-6A’s Best Technical Crew. Cypress Falls students Felipe Cardoza, Josie Martin, Mia Campos, Jazmine Gutierrez and Diego Martinez were named District 17-6A’s Best Technical Crew.

Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high schools advance alongside Tomball Memorial High School and three qualifiers from District 13-6A, with the contest to be held March 28 at Hendrickson High School (1920 Colorado Sand Drive) in Pflugerville. Performances will begin at 8 a.m. with plays starting on the hour. Tickets must be purchased at the door for $5 apiece.
Cypress Creek, Cypress Ridge and Jersey Village high schools advance alongside three qualifiers from District 18-6A, with the competition to be held March 27 at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road). Performances will begin at 3 p.m. with plays starting on the hour. Tickets must be purchased at the door for $10 apiece.
Plays may contain mature subject matter.
The Langham Creek High School production of Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson was among eight CFISD qualifiers to reach District 14-6A and District 17-6A One-Act Play competition.
