Five football teams advance to Class 6A area playoffs

Nov. 17, 2019—Five CFISD football teams won their bi-district postseason games Nov. 14-15 and advanced to the area playoffs Nov. 21-23.

In the Class 6A Division I playoff bracket, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high schools won their Region II matchups, while Cy-Fair and Cypress Falls high schools won their respective Region III contests:

  • Cypress Falls beat Houston Lamar, 27-14, on Nov. 15 at Delmar Stadium. The Eagles will meet Katy Tompkins on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium (1830 Katyland Dr.);
  • Cypress Woods eliminated Round Rock Cedar Ridge, 42-28, on Nov. 15 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. The Wildcats advance to face The Woodlands on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
  • Cy-Fair defeated Houston Bellaire, 65-20, on Nov. 15 at Pridgeon Stadium. The Bobcats will meet Katy on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at Spring Branch ISD’s Tully Stadium (1050 Dairy Ashford Road) in Houston; and
  • Cypress Ranch beat Round Rock Stony Point, 38-24, on Nov. 15 at Round Rock ISD’s Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The Mustangs advance to face Klein Oak on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. at Waller ISD Stadium (20735 Stokes Road).

In the Class 6A Division II bracket, Cypress Creek High School won its Region III bi-district game to advance to area:

Cypress Creek defeated Houston Westside, 41-21, on Nov. 14 at Pridgeon Stadium. The Cougars advance to face Katy Mayde Creek on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road).

Cy-Fair High School junior Carter Cravens and the Bobcats defeated Houston Bellaire, 65-20, to advance in the Division I-6A playoffs. They will face Katy on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at Spring Branch ISD’s Tully Stadium.

The Bridgeland Bears ended their season as Division II Region II-6A bi-district finalists following a 14-13 loss to Austin Vandegrift on Nov. 15.

Pre-sale tickets for all area-round games will be sold for $8 adult reserved and general admission) and $6 (students) apiece, while tickets at the gate will be sold for $10 apiece.

Ticket sale information is as follows:

Cypress Creek and Cypress Woods high schools

  • Existing season ticket holders can repurchase their season ticket seats online at beginning Monday, Nov. 18 at 8 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. All unsold reserved and general admission tickets will be released to the public on Wednesday morning, Nov. 20 at 8 a.m.
  • Tickets will be sold at the campuses per each school’s normal ticketing procedures beginning Wednesday, Nov. 20.
  • Beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 8 a.m., all unsold reserved tickets will be available for online sale at

Cypress Falls High School

  • Tickets may be purchased online beginning Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 8 a.m. at
  • Tickets will also be on sale at the Cypress Falls campus per the school’s customary practices beginning Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Cy-Fair and Cypress Ranch high schools

  • Tickets (cash only) will be on sale at each campus beginning Tuesday, Nov. 19. Times and ticket sale locations will be released on Monday, Nov. 18 for on-campus sales.
  • There will be no online presale ticket sales for the games at Tully Stadium and Waller ISD Stadium.

Tickets for all playoff games will also be available for purchase at the CFISD athletic office at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road, entrance 2). Sales for the Cypress Creek and Cypress Woods games begin Monday, Nov. 18, while sales for the Cy-Fair, Cypress Falls and Cypress Ranch games begin Tuesday, Nov. 19.
