Debbie Blackshear, Position 4
Nov. 4, 2015—With 100 percent of precincts reporting, unofficial results from the Nov. 3 election for four seats on the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees indicate that Tom Jackson was elected to Position 1, Christine Hartley was elected to Position 2, Darcy Mingoia was elected to Position 3 and Debbie Blackshear was elected to Position 4.
Tom Jackson, Position 1
For the Position 1 seat, Jackson received 27,731 votes in an uncontested race. A trustee since 2011, Jackson will begin his second term of service to the district.
Christine Hartley, Position 2
For the Position 2 seat, Hartley received 27,886 votes in an uncontested race. A trustee since 2011, Hartley will begin her second term of service to the district.
For the Position 3 seat, Mingoia received 16,292 votes (51.8 percent) over opponent Natalie Blasingame, who drew 15,186 votes (48.2 percent). A trustee since 2012, Mingoia will begin her second term of service to the district.
Darcy Mingoia, Position 3
For the Position 4 seat, Blackshear received 22,554 votes (70.1 percent) over opponent Pam Redd, who drew 9,603 votes (29.9 percent). Blackshear will begin her first term of service to the district.
Overall, the election drew 27,731 votes for Position 1, 27,886 votes for Position 2, 31,478 votes for Position 3 and 32,157 votes for Position 4. Early voting accounted for 41.4, 41.4, 41.3 and 41.6 percent of the ballots cast in each of the four respective races. Of 275,914 registered voters within CFISD, 16.4 percent cast ballots in the election.
Official results from Tuesday’s election will be canvassed and announced during the Monday, Nov. 16 special-called Board of Trustees meeting. The elected candidates to Positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be sworn in during a special-called meeting prior to the Dec. 10 committee-of-the-whole meeting to serve four-year terms.
