Sept. 20, 2018—KUBE Channel 57 sports director Todd Freed and Allegiance Bank representative Danny Howard visited Jersey Village High School on Sept. 18 to honor the football team with the Allegiance Bank Team of the Week plaque.

The Falcons have a 2–1 record on the season, which includes a 1-0 mark in District 17-6A play. They were recognized for their 25–21 win over Cypress Ridge High School on Sept. 13 at Pridgeon Stadium.

The victory is the second straight for Jersey Village after beating Cinco Ranch 50-48 on Sept. 7.

“We have total team effort,” said David Snokhous, Jersey Village head football coach and campus athletic coordinator. “This started back in the spring getting everyone to buy in (and) win the day. Again, this is proof that everyone associated with our program has made the commitment and we are honored to be selected team of the week.”

Jersey Village dedicated the game to Falcons’ assistant coach Wesley Sauls and his family. Sauls’ two-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia this summer.

Players and the school wanted to bring awareness to childhood cancer, with a number of fans in attendance wearing orange shirts.

“Football is more than just a game we play,” senior Dylan Robbins said. “It really is our life. Being able to come together for Coach Sauls is something really great.”

The Allegiance Bank Team of the Week segment will air during the High School SportsZone show, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday on KUBE Channel 57.
