Nov. 25, 2019—The middle school volleyball season concluded on Nov. 9, with East and West Zone champions being named for seventh and eighth grade A and B teams.
In eighth grade, Cook, Hamilton and Truitt middle schools’ A teams tied for the East Zone championship all posting a 6-1 record, while Smith Middle School’s A team won the West Zone with a 7-0 record.
Hamilton’s B team won the East Zone with a 7-0 record, while Smith’s B team won the West Zone with a 7-0 record.
In seventh grade, Hamilton’s A team won the East Zone with a 7-0 record and Anthony and Spillane middle schools’ A teams tied for the West Zone championship both posting 7-0 records.
Arnold Middle School and Hamilton’s B teams tied for the East Zone title both posting a 7-0 record, while Spillane’s B team won the West Zone with a 7-0 record.
“We are extremely proud of our 2019 middle school zone champions,” said Sharon Farrah, associate athletic director. “It was an exceedingly competitive year and the athletes were amazing.”
