Nearly 400 volunteers participate in 2019 Bus Buddies program

Aug. 29, 2019—A total of 390 community volunteers assisted new CFISD bus riders in safely reaching their proper drop-off points as part of the 13th annual CFISD Bus Buddies program, Aug. 26-27.  

Bus Buddies rode CFISD school buses from 2:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the first two days of school, assisting bus drivers with the transition back to school.

“The Bus Buddies program motivates hundreds of volunteers from the CFISD community, Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce and Adopt-a-School partnerships to keep our students safe as they adjust to their school year routine,” Bevin Gordon, director of marketing and business relations, said. “We are always grateful for this incredible community collaboration.”  

In addition to community volunteers, 83 businesses and organizations participated in the program. The following partners came together to establish another successful year:
