Runners named to girls’ academic all-district cross country teams

Langham Creek High School freshman Sofia Barreda was named to the Academic All-District 16-6A Girls’ Cross Country Team.
Feb. 24, 2021—CFISD athletes were named to the girls’ Academic All-District 16-6A and 17-6A Cross Country teams, which were recently announced.
Cypress Ranch High School sophomore Sarah Mulholland was named to the Academic All-District 16-6A Girls’ Cross Country Team.
Runners who earned recognition finished the 2020 season in good standing and earned a composite weighted grade point average of 5.5 or higher for all classes for the two identified six weeks that make up the majority of the cross country regular season.
Cypress Ridge High School junior Madeline Rasgado was named to the Academic All-District 17-6A Girls’ Cross Country Team.
“The CFISD athletic department is very proud of our cross country academic all-district athletes and their coaches,” said Carey Palmer, associate athletic director. “Academic excellence is one of the organizing pillars in our athletic department. It is tremendous to see so many kids being successful at the highest level in terms of their academic achievement, especially during these trying times this past year with COVID-19. It is an amazing accomplishment for these student-athletes to achieve academic excellence given what they have been through.”
Jersey Village High School sophomore Mia Rodriguez was named to the Academic All-District 17-6A Girls’ Cross Country Team.
