Seven CFISD soccer teams claim bi-district postseason victories

Cypress Ranch High School senior D’Asia Collins (No. 11) scored a goal in helping the Mustangs beat Houston Heights 2-0 on March 29 at Cypress Falls High School. Cy Ranch was one of three CFISD girls’ soccer teams to advance to the area round.

March 30, 2018—Seven CFISD boys’ and girls’ soccer teams won their Region III-6A bi-district playoff matches, including all four on the boys’ side.

Here are the boys’ soccer results and pairings:

  • Langham Creek High School defeated Houston Westside 2-1 on March 29 at home. The Lobos advance to the area round to face Houston Strake Jesuit at 7 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School (8900 Bellaire Blvd) in Houston.
  • Cypress Ridge High School beat Houston Heights 2-0 on March 29 at Pridgeon Stadium. The Rams will meet Katy Tompkins at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Cypress Ridge (7900 N. Eldridge Pkwy).
  • Cypress Ranch High School beat Houston Bellaire 1-0 on March 29 at Cypress Falls High School. The Mustangs advance to face Katy Seven Lakes at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Tompkins High School (4400 Falcon Landing Blvd) in Katy.
  • Cypress Lakes High School beat Houston Sam Houston 3-0 on March 29 at Houston ISD’s Delmar Stadium. The Spartans will play Katy Cinco Ranch at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium (1733 Katy Fort Bend Road) in Katy.

Langham Creek High School junior Dylan Heath (No. 15) and the Lobos advanced to the area round of the postseason following a 2-1 win over Houston Westside on March 29. All four CFISD boys’ soccer teams won their bi-district playoff games.

Here are the girls’ soccer results and pairings:

  • Cypress Woods High School defeated Houston Lamar 9-0 on March 29 at Pridgeon Stadium and advanced to the area round to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium.
  • Cypress Ranch High School beat Houston Heights 2-0 on March 29 at Cypress Falls High School and will face Fort Bend Clements at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Katy ISD’s Rhodes Stadium (1733 Katy Fort Bend Road) in Katy.
  • Cy-Fair High School defeated Houston Westside 5-3 on March 29 at Langham Creek High School and will meet Katy Cinco Ranch at 6 p.m. Monday, April 2 at Cinco Ranch High School (23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd) in Katy.
  • Langham Creek High School ended its season with a 2-0 loss to Houston Bellaire on March 29 at Houston ISD’s Butler Stadium. The Lobos were District 17-6A’s fourth seed and bi-district finalists.

Tickets for all games will be sold at the gate for $5 apeice (students and adults).
