Military Academy Night

CFISD students and parents gathered information from service academy representatives during the annual Military Academy Night at the Berry Center on Tuesday.

Nov. 21, 2013—The CFISD Guidance and Counseling Department hosted the annual Military Academy Night at the Berry Center on Nov. 19, welcoming secondary students and their parents while they gathered information and visited with representatives from the five service academies:

  • U.S. Military Academy (West Point)
  • U.S. Naval Academy
  • U.S. Air Force Academy
  • U.S. Coast Guard Academy
  • U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

Representatives were also available from the Army and Air Force ROTC and the Texas Maritime Academy.

Information regarding the admissions requirements, application process and the nomination process was reviewed. Students will open their admissions file with an academy and begin the application for a nomination from their senator or congressional representative during the spring semester of the junior year. Guidance counselors are available at each campus to assist students with this process. Additional information can be found on the academies’ websites.
