Students represent CFISD at Special Olympics volleyball tournament

Nov. 13, 2017—Twelve CFISD student athletes competed in the 2017 Houston Area Special Olympics volleyball tournament, held Nov. 11 at Willowbrook Sports Complex.

The CFISD volleyball team lost in two games to both Deer Park ISD and Harris County Galaxy, then battled back to beat Goose Creek in two games, earning the bronze medal for its division.

“I am so proud of my athletes and all of their hard work this season,” said Michelle Ryza, head coach. “We played really well and we even moved up a level from last year. They did a great job!”

Athlete Alex Nguyen, a student at the Carlton Center, participated in the individual skills competition and received the silver medal in his division.
