Volleyball athletes named to 2020 academic all-district teams

Cypress Lakes High School senior Yoselin Ponce, center, was named to the Academic All-District 16-6A Volleyball Team.
Feb. 23, 2021—CFISD District 16-6A and District 17-6A volleyball athletes were named to the academic all-district teams, which were recently announced.
Cypress Creek High School senior Kiara Thomas was named to the Academic All-District 17-6A Volleyball Team.
Volleyball players named to the academic all-district teams finished the season in good standing and earned a composite weighted grade point average of 5.5. or higher for all classes for the two identified six weeks that make up the majority of the regular season.
Cypress Woods High School junior Sofia Urbina was named to the Academic All-District 16-6A Volleyball Team.
“CFISD’s volleyball players and coaches truly understand the hard work and commitment that is required to be exemplary,” said Virginia Flores, associate athletic director. “We are so proud of the 179 volleyball players who have epitomized the essence of the student-athlete and are being recognized for their academic all-district accolades in an extraordinarily tough season.”
Cy-Fair High School senior Julia Chew was named to the Academic All-District 17-6A Volleyball Team.
