Oct. 31, 2018—Three CFISD volleyball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while Langham Creek High School concluded its season.
Cy-Fair High School beat Houston Carnegie in a sweep by the scores of 25-17, 25-9 and 25-17. The Bobcats advance to face Katy Cinco Ranch at 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Spring Branch ISD’s Coleman Coliseum (1050 Dairy Ashford Road).

Cypress Ranch High School defeated Round Rock Westwood in four games by the scores of 26-24, 16-25, 25-23 and 26-24. The Mustangs advance to face Klein at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 2 at Houston ISD’s Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road).
Cypress Creek High School beat Houston Westside in five games by the scores of 33-31, 26-24, 17-25, 24-26 and 17-15. The Cougars advance to face Katy at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Merrell Center (6301 S. Stadium Lane) in Katy.
Cypress Creek High School junior Alexandra Evans-Brooks and the Cougars upset District 18-6A champion Houston Westside in a bi-district playoff Oct. 30 at Delmar Fieldhouse. They advance to face Katy at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Merrell Center in Katy.
Tickets for all games will be sold at the gate for $5 each (adults and students).
Langham Creek High School was defeated by Austin Vandegrift in four games by the scores of 18-25, 27-25, 26-28 and 24-26. The Lobos were District 14-6A’s fourth seed and finished the season as bi-district finalists.
