The Adaptive Behavior Center is organized to provide a supportive environment for students who have experienced academic, emotional, and/or behavioral problems at their home campus. The framework for student success centers around academic tasks, social behavior skills, and pre-vocational skills needed for transition to home-campus or work. The "team concept" is utilized at the Center to enhance continuity, better meet academic/emotional needs, provide a sense of security and belonging, and maximize peer interaction. Each student is assigned to an instructional team upon entering the Center. Our goal at the Center is to ensure that all students are given an opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve academically and behaviorally. A Behavior Management System is in place to help students succeed by providing: appropriate educational tasks, rewards that are meaningful to the students, appropriate teacher intervention, and the teaching of coping, socially acceptable and responsible behaviors.
22 students as of 9/16/13
