The community of Walker Elementary is dedicated to creating an atmosphere in which students, parents, and teachers work collaboratively to build the foundation that supports each child in achieving his/her full potential. This environment promotes learning opportunities that enable our students to become effective communicators, competent problem solvers, self-directed learners, responsible citizens, and quality producers.
923 students as of September 15, 2018
Walker Elementary is located in Settlers Village at the intersection of Fry Road and FM 529. This school was named for Sandra Bales Walker who served as a secretary for the district for twenty-five years. She was a principal’s secretary at Jersey Village High School for eight years. As a superintendent’s secretary for 17 years, she worked with three superintendents before she retired in May 1997. She and her husband, Jesse, have three sons, Kevin, a Cypress-Fairbanks staff member, Darrell, and Eugene. Their three sons are Cypress-Fairbanks ISD graduates.
The Walker Elementary PTO meets on a regular basis. The organization funds cultural arts activities and field trips, organizes volunteers, sponsors various student events, and conducts fund-raisers, which have provided technology, landscaping, books, and playground equipment.
