What are the responsibilities of the Board of Trustees?
After completing the Lone Star Governance Training in preparation for my candidacy, I understand that the Board of Trustees carries the crucial responsibility of setting the vision and direction for the district. Having been deeply engaged in education for over 30 years, I understand the significance of positive trustee relations for student and teacher well-being. What critical challenges face the district, and what are possible solutions to address those issues?
My platform revolves around achieving successful student outcomes, reinforcing robust communication systems, and enhancing safety measures. Addressing crucial challenges like effective teacher support, proven teacher-retention strategies, and the impact of technology on education is vital. To tackle these issues, I advocate for comprehensive teacher professional development and strategic integration of technology for personalized learning. Prioritizing these solutions will foster a conducive learning environment and prepare students for an ever-changing future.
