Julie Hinaman has long been dedicated to her community as an active volunteer. She has served on the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees since June of 2019, when she was appointed to a vacant Position 2. She was then elected to a four-year term in November 2019 and served as Vice-President of the CFISD Board. Julie was re-elected to the CFISD Board in 2023 and currently serves as President.

As a CFISD Global Volunteer, Julie volunteers regularly across the district. For the past 9 years, she has been mentoring students as a CFISD Mentor and with the Cy-Hope Mentoring program. She volunteers as a CFISD Bus Buddy, for campus book fairs, and as a reader in our Early Learning Centers.

Julie served as chair of the CFISD Community Leadership Committee and as co-chair of the CFISD Long Range Planning Committee that developed the 2019 CFISD Bond program gaining in-depth understanding of district finance and operations as well as valuable experiences as an advocate for public education.

In addition to her volunteer duties in CFISD, Julie also serves on the Cy-Hope Board of Directors. She is a member of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, the Cy-Fair League of Women Voters, Cy-FARE and Cy-Fair 100 Women Who Care. Julie and her family are members of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church.

A 23-year resident of CFISD, Julie lives in Cypress with her husband of 33 years and is the mother of two daughters. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Houston.

Julie Hinaman regularly attends academic, athletic, fine arts and CTE events throughout the district and especially enjoys visiting students and teachers in their classrooms.
