University Scholarships

Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers
The scholarship is open to students who are working toward receiving their teaching certification for the first time at selected universities. The Charles Butt Scholarship is for students who demonstrate a strong commitment to a teaching career in a majority economically disadvantaged school or in a shortage subject area (in a school where more than 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, or as a math, science, bilingual, or special education teacher) in the Texas public school system.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be committed to teaching in a majority-economically disadvantaged school or in a shortage subject area (in a school where more than 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, or as a math, science, bilingual, or special education teacher) in a Texas public school. Preference is given to Texas residents.

Award Amount: up to $8,000 - $10,000

Doug Miller & Don Sanders Scholarships
The Doug Miller & Don Sanders Scholarship provides low-income Texas high school graduates the chance to earn a four-year college education inclusive of living expenses at a Texas public university.

Because of their income guidelines, this scholarship is not for you if you are from a middle or upper income family. If you family’s FAFSA shows an SAI of more than zero, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
Horatio Alger Association Undergraduate Scholarship Program
The Horatio Alger Association awards scholarships to US Citizens who are facing and overcoming significant adversities. Applicant's adjusted gross family income must be $65,000 or lower.
RocNation School
This scholaship will provide tuition support to incoming Roc Nation School students with the highest need. Students who apply to Long Island University and submit a FAFSA are automatically considered for this PUMA Hope Scholarship.
Terry Traditional Scholarship
The Terry Traditional Scholarship, or Freshman Scholarship, is a full ride, last dollar scholarship that covers up to eight semesters. It is awarded to Texas high school seniors who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas.

Texas A& M Foundation Scholarship Opportunities
At the Texas A&M Foundation, we are dedicated to expanding access to higher education and empowering qualified students to pursue a transformative experience at Texas A&M University. Through our scholarship programs, we support hundreds of incoming freshmen and current students each year, helping them unlock their full academic potential.

By completing the Foundation’s scholarship application, students are automatically considered for a wide range of scholarships available under the Foundation Excellence Award program. The information provided will be evaluated across the varying requirements for each available scholarship.

The Bobcat Online Scholarship System (BOSS) allows you to use one application to apply for as many Texas State scholarships as you’re interested in. We are in the process of making all department and college scholarships available through BOSS Online scholarship system.
Texas Tech Scholarships For Incoming Freshmen
Texas Tech offers a variety of general and merit-based scholarship programs to help ease the cost of your education at Texas Tech. Earning a scholarship starts as you enter your senior year in high school. To increase your chances of an academic award, please apply to Texas Tech as soon as possible. You are encouraged to seek external scholarships which can supplement your award.
