Parent Notification - Health Screenings

Health Screenings

In accordance with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 37, Rule §37.25, CFISD will conduct the following state-mandated health screenings. All screenings will be performed by certified screeners following guidance from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

• Vision and Hearing Screening:
  • All students aged 4 and older who are enrolled for the first time
  • Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7^th  grades
• Spinal Screening
  • Girls in  5^th and 7^th grades
  • Boys in 8^th grade
• Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes (Acanthosis Nigricans)
  • Students in 1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, and 7th grades
