Health Services Department

The CFISD Health Services Department supports schools to foster healthy and safe environments for students to reach optimum achievement and wellness. Since health and educational goals are interdependent, Cy-Fair ISD employs a registered nurse at each campus to ensure the provision of safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to students with diverse healthcare needs.

Health Screenings

In accordance with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter 37, Rule §37.25, CFISD will conduct the following state-mandated health screenings. All screenings will be performed by certified screeners following guidance from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Vision and Hearing Screening:
- All students aged 4 and older who are enrolled for the first time
- Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7^th grades
Spinal Screening
- Girls in 5^th and 7^th grades
- Boys in 8^th grade
Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes (Acanthosis Nigricans)
- Students in 1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, and 7th grades
