CFISD football standouts, coach honored as TD Club award finalists

Dec. 19, 2022—Bridgeland High School senior Reid Mikeska and Cypress Ranch High School senior Ashton Porter joined Cy-Fair High School head football coach Jeff Miller in being honored as Touchdown Club of Houston award finalists. They joined fellow honorees in being recognized Dec. 14 at a ceremony at the Bayou City Event Center.

Dec. 14, 2022—District 16-6A and District 17-6A coaches selected the All-District 16-6A and All-District 17-6A cross country teams following the conclusion of each team’s 2022 season.

Denton Guyer tops Cy Creek to win Cy-Hoops Invitational title

Dec. 13, 2022—Denton Guyer High School defeated Cypress Creek High School, 58-55, in the championship game of the 13th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational on Dec. 10 at the Berry Center to win the 24-team tournament.

Langham Creek HS Baseball Coach Armando Sedeño inducted into area hall of honor

Dec. 13, 2022—Langham Creek High School Baseball Coach Armando Sedeño was recently inducted into the Greater Houston Baseball Coaches Association (GHBCA) Hall of Honor, joining three other prestigious coaches who helped promote the game of baseball in the Houston area and were equally successful with their programs.

Cy-Fair HS Basketball Coach Ann Roubique earns 700th career win

Dec. 12, 2022—Cy-Fair High School celebrated Girls’ Basketball Coach Ann Roubique’s 700th career win with a small recognition ceremony before the team’s home opener on Dec. 5. Roubique’s milestone victory came the previous Tuesday on the road against Cypress Park High School.

Dec. 8, 2022—Eighty-three CFISD student-athletes, student trainers and managers in football earned Academic All-State honors and accolades for the 2022-2023 school year from the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).
