Former Cy Falls HS basketball coach inducted into area Hall of Fame
May 13, 2022—After 44 years of service, former Cypress Falls High School Basketball Coach Jim Draudt was inducted into the inaugural Houston Area Basketball Coaches Association (HABCA) Hall of Fame on May 4 during a ceremony at the association’s annual all-star game.

May 12, 2022—Two CFISD softball teams advanced past the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the region quarterfinal round this week, while Cy-Fair, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high schools concluded the season as area finalists.

May 12, 2022—Three CFISD baseball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round this week, while Bridgeland, Cypress Falls and Cypress Woods high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

May 11, 2022—Students in CFISD Technology Student Association (TSA) organizations won 183 first place and 154 second place awards at the Texas TSA State Competition, held April 21-23 in Fort Worth.

Track and field athletes qualify for 2022 UIL State Meet
May 10, 2022—CFISD track and field teams will send 11 girls’ entries and two boys’ entries to the UIL Track and Field State Meet, May 12-14 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. The Class 6A events will be May 14. Athletes qualified after placing in their respective events at the Region II-6A meet at Waco Midway High School and Region III-6A meet at Humble ISD’s Turner Stadium.

He still would like to follow his mother’s footsteps in the medical field, but acting might also be an option after he successfully earned the lead role in a national commercial for Academy Sports + Outdoors that began airing in March.

May 4, 2022—CFISD students competed in the UIL Academic Region II-6A and Region III-6A meets, held April 22-23 at Baylor University in Waco and Katy ISD’s Seven Lakes High School, respectively, highlighted by Cypress Woods High School’s Region II-6A team championship.

May 3, 2022—Dr. Plas Williams Jr., associate principal at Cypress Springs High School, was named the new principal at Truitt Middle School on May 3. Williams replaces Yvette Garcia, who will retire in June.
