CFISD students honored at first-ever Future Educators Signing Day
May 5, 2022—More than 160 CFISD students representing all 12 high schools were honored and celebrated for their aspirations to become classroom teachers at the district’s first-ever Future Educators Signing Day, held April 27 at the Berry Center.

April 22, 2022—Two-hundred and fifty-six CFISD swimmers and divers qualified for the Academic All-District 17-6A and 18-6A Swimming and Diving Teams.

National Merit Award winners honored at recognition program
April 21, 2022—Three hundred fifty-one CFISD students were recognized as National Merit Scholars or College Board National Recognition Scholars and honored at a ceremony on April 12 at the Berry Center. Of those recognized, 13 were confirmed as semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

April 19, 2022—Thirty-two CFISD swimmers and divers were named to the Texas Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (TISCA) All-State Team, a recognized organization of the University Interscholastic League (UIL).

Cy Ranch boys, Bridgeland girls repeat as 16-6A golf team champions
April 8, 2022—The Cypress Ranch High School boys’ golf team won the team championship with a two-day score of 635 (315-320) at the District 16-6A Boys’ Golf Tournament, held March 28-29 at Cypress Lakes Golf Club. On the girls’ side, Bridgeland High School won the team title, posting a two-round score of 694 (361-333) at the District 16-6A Girls’ Golf Tournament, held March 30-31 at Jersey Meadows Golf Course.

April 6, 2022—Twelve CFISD student-athletes representing eight high schools earned all-state and all-region accolades for the 2021-2022 season by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) and Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA).

CFISD basketball duo honored as finalists for city’s top honor
April 6, 2022—Cypress Falls High School senior Jesaiah McWright and Cypress Ranch High School senior Dubem Muoneke were honored as finalists for the Guy V. Lewis Award, which honors the season’s Greater Houston Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year. The winner was announced among the 10 finalists during a reception on March 29 at the University of Houston’s Athletics/Alumni Center.

April 5, 2022—CFISD high school color guards competed and placed at Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) area and state championships in March, which included color guards from Bridgeland and Cy-Fair high schools earning medals in their respective divisions at state competition.

18th Annual Pass in Review showcases district’s AFJROTC cadets
March 30, 2022—Approximately 850 cadets representing CFISD’s 12 comprehensive high schools and nine JROTC units displayed their discipline and uniformity at the district’s 18th Annual Air Force Junior ROTC Pass in Review, held March 26 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.

March 24, 2022—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A soccer seasons concluded March 11, with the top four boys’ and girls’ teams on each side qualifying for the UIL playoffs that begin March 24.

Cy Lakes honored as Touchdown Club Sportsmanship Award finalist
March 7, 2022—The Cypress Lakes High School football team was recognized as a Class 6A finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston’s Sportsmanship Award. The Spartans joined 14 other area Class 6A teams and 40 total programs across Houston honored as finalists March 2 at the Bayou City Event Center during the Touchdown Club’s 17th annual Comerica Bank High School Sportsmanship Luncheon, presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
