Cypress Woods HS students recognized at FBLA national conference

Cypress Woods High School senior Eshal Warsi placed fourth overall in Journalism at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference, held virtually June 29-July 2. The competition required Warsi to take an online objective test.

July 29, 2021—Cypress Woods High School junior Saran Sundar and senior Eshal Warsi received national recognition during the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference, held virtually June 29-July 2.  

More than 12,000 students from across the country participated in the online conference where they attended leadership and networking sessions and competed in multiple events.

Sundar and Warsi were recognized during FBLA’s Awards of Excellence ceremonies for their competition finishes. Sundar competed in Word Processing and placed 10th overall. Warsi competed in Journalism and finished fourth overall.

Cypress Woods High School junior Saran Sundar placed 10th overall in Word Processing at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference. The competition required students to take an online objective test as well as a production exam where students completed eight tasks in a 60-minute period.

“Due to COVID-19 nationals was once again a virtual conference,” said Lori Andrade, Cypress Woods FBLA sponsor. “Although not the norm, I am extremely proud of our students who competed and placed in this national competition. I am looking forward to getting back to normal next year.”

Students compete and are recognized for a broad range of business and career-related areas at the local, state and national levels. The FBLA National Leadership Conference featured 74 events at the high school level, 60 events at the collegiate level and nine events at the middle school level.

FBLA is a national career and technical student organization that strives to bridge business and education by providing positive working relationships through leadership and development programs.
