CFISD Student of the Week: Archer Jenkins

Sept. 13, 2021—Smith Middle School sixth grade student Archer Jenkins is praised by his teachers for being a well-rounded student and athlete.

School: Smith Middle School

Age: 11

Grade: 6

Accomplishments: Jenkins is a multi-sport athlete, playing football, lacrosse, golf and participates in fishing competitions. His flag football team won the league’s fall season championship game and his lacrosse team placed second in the league’s championship game. Jenkins also placed fifth overall in his most recent fishing tournament.

Favorite class: “World Cultures and reading/language arts, because both of my teachers, Ms. Houston-Motley and Ms. Longoria, are nice. I also just love the classes.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to play golf when I don’t have homework. I also like to play on my virtual reality headset and relax after class.”

Favorite song: Unity by TheFatRat.”

Favorite website/app: YouTube, because I like to relax and watch gaming videos.”

Favorite TV show: Mega Machines, because it goes in-depth on these really cool motorcycles and speed boats. Sometimes they even show planes.”

Favorite movie: Godzilla vs. Kong, because I watch it with my dad.”

Ambition: “I would like to be better at golf.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I’m passionate about playing golf.”

What inspires you?: “My grandpa inspires me.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “My virtual reality headset, books and school.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I’m looking forward to reading a lot this semester.”
