Two CFISD softball teams earn area postseason victories

Cypress Ranch High School junior Vanessa Soza and the Mustangs defeated Willis in a best-of-three series to become area champions. Cypress Ranch advances to the region quarterfinal to play Bridgeland in a best-of-three series beginning May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Bridgeland High School. 

May 12, 2022—Two CFISD softball teams advanced past the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs and move on to the region quarterfinal round this week, while Cy-Fair, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods and Jersey Village high schools concluded the season as area finalists.

Bridgeland High School defeated Conroe Oak Ridge in a best-of-three series by the scores of 5-4, 0-2 and 6-3.

Cypress Ranch High School defeated Willis in a best-of-three series by the scores of 12-4 and 6-0.

Bridgeland and Cypress Ranch advance to the region quarterfinal to face each other in a best-of-three series:

  • Game 1 – May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road);
  • Game 2 – May 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road); and
  • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.

All tickets will be sold at the gate for $5 apiece (adults and students) and will be cash only.
