Aug. 29, 2023—Representatives from Cabo Bob’s Burritos visited the staff at Yeager Elementary School on Aug. 21 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.

CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

For Cabo Bob’s, which began in Austin, supporting its community has been integral since its founding in 2008, said Laurie Rios, catering and special events coordinator. The Cutten Road location is less than three miles from Yeager. In addition to representatives formalizing their partnership with Yeager, they treated campus staff to a catered lunch.

“This is what we do as a business. We love to support our community,” Rios said. “Since I’ve been here in marketing, my main goal is to get with the school districts, show them that we’re here and we support them. I get calls daily and I don’t think we’ve turned anyone down yet.”

Tyler Hart, Yeager principal, expressed his gratitude for Cabo Bob’s, Rios and the business partner’s commitment to helping play an integral part in the education process.

“When someone from the community wants to help us with what we’re doing in our school, that’s heartwarming and it also confirms we’re doing something right,” Hart said. “I’ve been telling my staff this year that we’re building something new at Yeager and it’s going to be really exciting to be a part of. So to know there are community partners like Cabo Bob’s who want to be a part of it means now we have a partner who can help us make it an even more amazing experience for our students.”
