Aug. 30, 2023—Representatives from Mosaic United Methodist Church visited the staff at Hamilton Elementary School on Aug. 23 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.

CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

A member of the church is a former Hamilton PTO president and helped forge the formal partnership. Mosaic United, which is located approximately three miles from the campus, is already invested time and support to Hamilton. That included the same day of the adoption as volunteers helped set up books in the library.

“It’s one of the closest schools to us but we felt a specific calling to be able to support students, teachers and families in any way, and schools are one of the clearest points of being able to do that well,” Pastor Shuler Sitsch said. “It was an easy decision to partner with them. Being able to get out in the community, reach out to students and teachers, and give them resources they need in order to succeed is important to us.”

Sage Papaioannou, Hamilton principal, expressed her gratitude toward Mosaic United Methodist Church for its commitment to help support Hamilton staff and students.

“We’re so thankful because at the same time, we’re able to let them see what we do, what the school is really about and how much we put into our students,” Papaioannou said. “We have a strong community here and we’re just excited to add to that community. They’ve already been helping, so to be able to continue that relationship is amazing.”
