CFISD trio named to the Texas sports writers all-state baseball team
Cy-Fair High School graduate Gray St. Amant was among three CFISD student-athletes who named to the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A all-state team. The right-handed pitcher was named to the second team.
Aug. 2, 2021—Led by Cy-Fair High School graduate Gray St. Amant, three CFISD baseball athletes earned honors on the 2021 Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A all-state team, released on July 31.
Amant, who helped lead Cy-Fair to the District 17-6A championship, was among three pitchers selected to the second team.
Bridgeland High School senior Ryan Williams earned honorable mention accolades on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Baseball Team.
Two Bridgeland High School standouts earned honorable mention after helping lead the Bears to the District 16-6A championship. Senior Ryan Williams was selected as a catcher and recent graduate Tripp Cromer was selected as an outfielder.
The all-state team is voted on by the Texas Sports Writers Association, which is comprised of sports writers and editors from daily and weekly newspapers across Texas as well as sports internet services. It features three starting pitchers, one relief pitcher, one player at the remaining eight positions and a designated hitter. First, second and third teams are selected in addition to those who earned honorable mention.
Bridgeland High School graduate Tripp Cromer earned honorable mention accolades on the Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Baseball Team.
