Oct. 25, 2021—Cypress Ridge High School junior Thomas Tran is regarded by his teachers for being a leader and an involved student on and off campus.
School: Cypress Ridge High School
Accomplishments: Tran has served as a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) officer for the past two years, all while volunteering for local clubs and being a member of the varsity orchestra. He has also played sports, including volleyball.
Favorite class: “Biology, because learning about the structure of life and studying things at a molecular level is really fun.”
Favorite things to do after class: “Skateboarding, being with friends and learning new hobbies.”
Favorite song: “So Beautiful by DPR IAN.”
Favorite website/app: “Etsy, because I like browsing for items created by small businesses and it’s always fun looking for items that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.”
Favorite TV show: “The Blacklist, because of the suspense each episode brought and how it always left you feeling on the edge.”
Favorite movie: “A Silent Voice, because I believe that with every movie comes a different lesson you can learn, but it’s up to the watcher to interpret what that lesson is, and this movie represents that well.”
Ambition: “I want to become a physician assistant because of my interest in medicine.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I’m pretty passionate about enjoying nature and love taking care of plants.”
What inspires you?: “I’m inspired by my friends since they always challenge themselves and that motivates me to do the same.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “Music, hobbies and friends.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I’m looking forward to making more memories with my friends and enjoying the cooler weather that comes with the fall.”
