Nov. 9, 2021—The CFISD Board of Trustees approved the namesake for the new administration building as Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Nov. 8.
Dr. Henry is in his 11th year as CFISD superintendent, and is celebrating his 40th year in education. Prior to joining CFISD in 2011, Dr. Henry served as superintendent of schools for Galena Park ISD for seven years. While in GPISD, he was named a finalist for Texas Superintendent of the Year, Region 4 ESC Superintendent of the Year and ATPE Texas Administrator of the Year.
He has served as a superintendent in Texas for 31 years. He began as superintendent of schools for Milford ISD from 1991 to 1993, then moved to Collinsville ISD from 1993 to 1998. He accepted the position at Sulphur Springs ISD in 1998 and served through 2004.
