CFISD Student of the Week: Desirae Collins

Sept. 19, 2022—Hopper Middle School sixth grade student Desirae Collins is commended by her teachers for her eagerness and willingness to learn new things.

Age: 11

Grade: 6

Accomplishments: Collins recently tried her hand in a spelling bee.

Favorite class: “Theatre, because I want to learn about different things I have an interest in. I’ve always liked acting, too.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Either finish unfinished schoolwork or sit down while listening to music while reading a book.”

Favorite song: Under the Sea is my absolute favorite Disney song.”

Favorite website/app: YouTube, because I can search for any type of video and it’ll most likely come up.”

Favorite TV show: Stranger Things, because this show is the bomb. The writing, the actors, everything about it is my favorite.”

Favorite movie: The Little Mermaid.”

Ambition: “To go to a great college and learn more things about theatre.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Writing and theatre.”

What inspires you?: “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s quote, ‘If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.’”

What three things can’t you live without?: “My mom, book and my phone.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “Learning more about all subjects, getting all A’s and B’s, receiving no tardies, joining student council or the Honorable Huskies Club.”
