Nov. 10, 2022—Representatives from McGown Elementary School visited the staff at Bang Elementary School on Nov. 9 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership between the two campuses.

CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

LauraAnn Novacinski, McGown principal, shared that as the school’s leadership team came together to establish the traditions for CFISD’s newest elementary campus, one important pillar was community service.

“It was obvious from the very beginning that a priority for us was the opportunity to give back to the larger community,” Novacinski said. “Adopting a school was agreed upon by all as a great way to make a difference. Heavily supported by our parents, a planning committee was formed and possible schools were discussed. We were thrilled when Susan Bolado reached out with a specific need for her campus. We are so excited to partner with Bang and hope that we can spread joy for both students and staff. Adopting Bang was truly meant to be a perfect match.”
