Anthony, Salyards, Spillane win volleyball ‘A’ tournament titles

Nov. 18, 2021—Three different middle schools won bracket championships at the Middle School “A” Volleyball Tournament, held at various campuses Nov. 3 and 6.

The tournament gives CFISD middle schools additional contests in addition to the nine-week regular season which ran from Sept. 16 through Nov. 8. The bracket also allowed for more opportunities for crossover zone games.

In the Eighth Grade Gold Bracket, Spillane Middle School was crowned champion, Smith Middle School was runner-up and Salyards Middle School took third place. Hamilton Middle School won the consolation championship.

In the Eighth Grade Silver Bracket, Anthony Middle School finished first and Cook Middle School finished second. Rowe Middle School finished third while Truitt Middle School won the consolation championship.

In the Seventh Grade Gold Bracket, Salyards won first place ahead of second place Hamilton and third place Aragon Middle School. Smith won the consolation championship.

In the Seventh Grade Silver Bracket, Anthony won the championship, Hopper Middle School took second place and Dean Middle School took third place. Labay Middle School won the consolation championship.
