CFISD names new principal for Arnold Middle School

Amby Clinkscale, associate principal at Cypress Creek High School, was named the new principal at Arnold Middle School.

April 28, 2022Amby Clinkscale, associate principal at Cypress Creek High School, was named the new principal at Arnold Middle School on April 28. Clinkscale replaces Jodi White, who will retire in June.

Clinkscale has 26 years of experience in education, with 20 coming in CFISD. Her career in CFISD began as a teacher and coach at Cy-Fair High School. She served in the classroom for 17 years before moving into administration when she was named an assistant principal at Arnold in 2013.

She moved to Cypress Creek in 2016, serving one year as an assistant principal before accepting her current associate principal position in 2017.

Clinkscale participated in the CFISD Aspiring Principals Institute and served as a summer school principal in 2020. As a coach, she served as a girls’ basketball assistant and helped lead Cy-Fair High School to three appearances at the University Interscholastic League State Championships and the 2007-2008 Class 5A title.

Clinkscale earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University and Master of Education in Educational Administration from Sam Houston State University.

“Returning to Arnold Middle School to serve as principal is an honor,” Clinkscale said. “I am proud to continue the rich traditions of Buccaneer pride and excellence that inspire the motto, ‘There is no place like Arnold.’ I look forward to serving the students, staff and community.”
