CFISD golfers finishes season at Class 6A state tournament
The Cypress Creek High School boys’ golf team competed at the UIL Golf State Tournament for the second year in a row. Senior Tim Mauldin, juniors Jackson Gilbert, Rex Hargrove and Braeden Hoyt, and sophomore Maddox Birdsall made up the Cougars lineup at the tournament, held May 9-10 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown.
May 19, 2022—Student-athletes from Bridgeland, Cypress Creek, Cypress Ranch and Jersey Village high schools competed at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Golf State Championships.
The Cypress Creek boys’ golf team made a second consecutive state appearance, held May 9-10 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. The Cougars placed 10th overall after posting a team two-round score of 620 (316-304). The finish was an improvement of two spots from the team’s 2021 appearance.
Junior Rex Hargrove placed tied for 13th overall in the individual results, while fellow junior Jackson Gilbert tied for 19th.

Bridgeland High School sophomore Jasmine Do, right, was among three CFISD golfers to compete at the UIL Girls’ Golf State Tournament, held May 16-17 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown. Do finished with a score of 71-79—150 to tie for 20th individually.
On the girls’ side, three CFISD student-athletes participated as individual medalists at state, held May 16-17 at Legacy Hill Golf Club.
Bridgeland High School sophomore Jasmine Do was the top finisher among the three, tying for 20th.
