CFISD athletes, coach selected as Touchdown Club award finalists
Cypress Park High School senior running back Harold Perkins is among 10 finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston Offensive Player of the Year award.
Nov. 30, 2021—Two CFISD football standouts and two head coaches have been selected as Touchdown Club of Houston award finalists and will be recognized at the 42th annual UIL High School Awards Dinner, presented by Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and Texan Live, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at the Bayou City Event Center (9401 Knight Road).
Bridgeland High School senior quarterback Conner Weigman and Cypress Park High School senior running back Harold Perkins are among 10 finalists from Greater Houston for the Offensive Player of the Year award. Both were honored by the Touchdown Club as part of its 2021 UIL High School Preseason Team.
Bridgeland High School senior quarterback Conner Weigman is among 10 finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston Offensive Player of the Year award.
Weigman has thrown for more than 2,500 yards and 29 touchdowns in leading Bridgeland to a second consecutive double-digit win season.
Perkins averaged more than 17 yards per carry, finishing with 1,352 yards and 21 touchdowns on 78 carries. He helped lead Cypress Park to the District 16-6A title.
Bridgeland High School Head Football Coach David Raffield is among 10 finalists for the Touchdown Club of Houston Coach of the Year award.
Bridgeland Head Coach David Raffield and Jersey Village Head Coach David Snokhous are among 10 finalists for the Coach of the Year award. Raffield has led the Bears to an 11-2 record and appearance in the Division II-6A Region II championship game this Saturday against Tomball.
Snokhous led Jersey Village to its first 10-0 regular season since 1991 and the District 17-6A championship. The Falcons finished 11-1 and as area round finalists.
Video highlights of each finalist will be shown during the dinner and one winner will be named in each category.

Past CFISD student-athletes to win Offensive Player of the Year were Cypress Creek’s Ricky Vestal (1986) and Cypress Ridge High School’s Russell Shepard (2008), while past Defensive Player of the Year winners were Bridgeland’s Bryce McMorris (2020), Cypress Creek’s Sam Adams (1990), Josh Williams (1994) and Josh White (2019), Jersey Village High School’s Bryan Johnson (1992) and Shawn Brooks (2000), Langham Creek High School’s Jamar Williams (2001) ) and Cypress Falls High School’s Andre Sexton (2004). Cy-Fair High School Head Coach Ed Pustejovsky was named Coach of the Year in 2017, while former Bobcats Coach Ronny Peacock earned the honor in 1999.
