CFISD Student of the Week: Sakura Vu

April 1, 2024—Lieder Elementary School fifth grade student Sakura Vu is applauded by her teachers for being an active and involved student on campus.

Age: 11

Grade: 5

Accomplishments: Vu is a distinguished honor roll student, participates in Name That Book, is the Lieder Lighthouse Leadership Team vice president and is a tour guide leader. Vu also has attended Japanese school.

Favorite class: “Science, because it’s interactive. We get to do experiments all the time. I like learning about more of the world and understand how and why things happen.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to play outside and play volleyball.”

Favorite song: “I like Japanese music by SG.”

Favorite website/app: YouTube, because I get to watch my favorite YouTubers. There is a lot of useful information and lots of facts.”

Favorite TV show: Young Sheldon. There are funny jokes.”

Favorite movie: Cruella, because it shows her background. I like how she creates her designs. It shows her creativity.”

Ambition: “I want to be a scientist and learn more things about the world. I want to make the world an easier place to live in.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Anime.”

What inspires you?: “People in the background not showing themselves, but helping those around them.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “Food, water and air.”
