Soccer postseason begins for 11 CFISD teams

The Bridgeland High School girls’ soccer team won the District 16-6A championship for the fourth consecutive year.
The Bridgeland High School girls’ soccer team won the District 16-6A championship for the fourth consecutive year to enter the UIL Class 6A playoffs as the district’s top seed. The Bears will face Klein Oak at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. 

March 22, 2024—The District 16-6A and District 17-6A soccer seasons concluded March 20, with the top four boys’ and girls’ team from each side qualifying for the UIL playoffs that begin March 25.

In 16-6A, Bridgeland High School claimed the girls’ championship, finishing with a 12-0-2 record to head into the postseason as the district’s top seed. Cypress Ranch High School placed second with a 10-1-3 record, while Cypress Woods High School finished third with a 10-3-1 record. Langham Creek High School claimed the fourth seed by finishing with a 7-7-0 record.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Bridgeland will meet Klein Oak at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
  • Cypress Ranch will play Klein at 5:30 p.m. on March 26 at Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road);
  • Cypress Woods will face Tomball at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Tomball Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road); and
  • Langham Creek will clash with Tomball Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on March 26 at Tomball Stadium.

On the boys’ side, Bridgeland claimed the District 16-6A championship with an 11-3-0 record. Cypress Falls High School finished with a 9-1-4 record to claim the district’s second seed, while Cypress Springs High School had a 9-4-1 record to claim the third seed. Cypress Woods finished with an 8-3-3 record to finish fourth.

The bi-district pairings are as follows:

  • Bridgeland will face Klein Forest at 5:30 p.m. on March 26 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium;
  • Cypress Falls will play Waller at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Pridgeon Stadium;
  • Cypress Springs will meet Klein Cain at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Cypress Ridge High School (7900 N. Eldridge Parkway); and
  • Cypress Woods will clash with Tomball at 7:30 p.m. on March 26 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road).

In District 17-6A, the Cy-Fair High School girls placed third with a 9-3-1 record. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford High School finished first, Memorial High School placed second and Northbrook High School finished fourth.

Cy-Fair will play Bellaire at 6:15 p.m. on March 25 at HISD’s Butler Stadium (13755 Main Street).

On the boys’ side, Cypress Ridge High School finished with a 7-2-2 record to claim the district’s second seed. Jersey Village High School posted a 5-5-4 record to claim the district’s fourth seed. Spring Branch ISD’s Northbrook High School finished first and Spring Woods High School finished third.

  • Cypress Ridge will play Houston Sam Houston at 7 p.m. on March 25 at Jersey Village High School (7600 Solomon Street); and
  • Jersey Village will play Houston Lamar at 8 p.m. on March 26 at HISD’s Delmar Stadium (2020 Mangum Road).

Tickets for all playoff games will be sold online for $5 apiece (adults and students).
