CFISD students to perform in HRB’s production of The Nutcracker

Nov. 13, 2023—Sixteen CFISD students have been cast in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 25th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring professional guest artists Nikisha Fogo as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Aaron Robison as the Cavalier, with the new HRB company orchestra directed by Tarana Taylor.

Volleyball playoffs continue for six CFISD teams in area round

Langham Creek HS student participates in prestigious NASA internship

Ten CFISD water polo teams advance to area round

Oct. 13, 2023—Ten CFISD water polo teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while the girls’ teams from Cypress Lakes and Langham Creek high schools and the boys’ teams from Bridgeland, Cypress Springs, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

CFISD high schools recognized in U.S. News & World Report rankings

Sept. 6, 2023—Bridgeland, Cypress Woods and Cypress Ranch high schools ranked among the top 1,400 U.S. high schools in the country, while Cy-Fair, Langham Creek and Cypress Creek high schools gave Cypress-Fairbanks ISD six schools among the top 3,400 nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of America’s Best High Schools.

CFISD duo named to Touchdown Club Preseason Football Team

Aug. 17, 2023—Cy-Fair High School quarterback Trey Owens and Langham Creek High School tight end Jordan Washington were among the standout football players named to and honored as a part of the Touchdown Club of Houston 2023 UIL High School Preseason Football Team. The honorees were recognized on Aug. 16 at the Bayou City Event Center (9401 Knight Road).

High School AFJROTC units earn 2022-2023 organization awards

July 31, 2023—The Air Force JROTC units from Cypress Springs (TX-20016), Cypress Ridge (TX-20028), Cy-Fair (TX-20057), Langham Creek (TX-20061) and Cypress Creek (TX-20102) high schools were among units across the United States to receive the 2022-2023 Distinguished Unit Award, as announced by the AFJROTC Headquarters.
