    Dear Parents and Guardians,

I trust this message finds you well as we embrace the month of February at Yeager Elementary. As we continue our journey through the academic year, I am pleased to share some important updates and highlights from our school community.

    1. Academic Achievements: We celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students throughout January. The mid-year assessments have provided valuable insights into their progress, and our teachers are diligently working to support every student in reaching their full potential. If you have any concerns about your child's academic progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to their teachers. This month we will be taking Benchmark Tests to add more data to our teachers' tool belt to enhance planning to help our students achieve their highest potential throughout the second semester.

    2. Black History Month: February marks Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich history and contributions of African Americans. Throughout the month we will be highlighting many famous African Americans and their achievements in our morning announcements.

    3. STEAM Night and Book Fair: Next week, on Tuesday, February 7th, we will be having our STEAM Night!  We will be having lots of fun activities in which your students can participate. Our Book Fair will be going on during STEAM Night as well! Come find some great books to add to your home library for your students!  The Book Fair will officially be running during entire week of February 5th-9th!  We are in need of many volunteers to help throughout the week!  Sign up at the link to help us out!

    4. Valentine's Day: February 14th is right around the corner. We will not be having class parties, but our students will have the opportunity to pass out valentines to their classmates at the end of the day. Please reach out to your child's teacher on any specifics they may be doing.

    7. 5th Grade Celebration: Our 5th Graders will have a special day in May to celebrate their Yeager Journey.  While all 5th grade parents are being sent this message, we also want to extend an opportunity for you to please consider helping sponsor a 5th grader.  The main cost is $25, but any amount to help sponsor a 5th grader is welcome!  This money is being used for all 5th grade students to receive their own 5th Grade T-Shirt, help fund our 5th Grade Celebration Day and Field Trip, and also help provide snacks and treats on this day.  Any sponsorship donation can be completed through School Cash, and will stay open until April 30th.  Thank you so much for your consideration in helping us celebrate and give our 5th graders their special day as they end their elementary school careers.

    8. Community Involvement: I encourage parents to actively participate in our school community. Whether it's volunteering, attending school events, or joining our VIPS, your involvement has a significant impact on the overall educational experience for our students.
