• Superintendent Search for CFISD

    To the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Community:

    The search for a new superintendent in CFISD continues to make positive progress! As you know, the Board of Trustees hired Thompson & Horton LLP to help identify quality candidates to lead our school district.

    During the month of September, the consulting firm conducted five focus group sessions that included stakeholders identified by each trustee to solicit input on the selection of the next superintendent.

    In addition, a districtwide survey was disseminated and yielded more than 4,000 distinct responses. The Board had an opportunity to review all 700 pages and a summary report was provided by  Hanover Research. The report has been added to the Superintendent Search webpage.

    The field of applicants has been narrowed, and the Board is in the process of conducting first- and second-round interviews for candidates. The current Board will select and name the lone finalist in November, and the newly elected Board will finalize contractual details in December. This hybrid approach was selected by the Board.

    The Nov. 13 Board of Trustees meeting will provide more details on the status of the search.
