POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS & SUPPORTS (PBIS)
PBIS is a proactive positive systems approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in schools. CFISD has 82 campuses currently implementing the PBIS system. Since the implementation of the process, there has been a significant decrease in office referrals district-wide.

CODE OF CONDUCT
The Student Code of Conduct is an online document that specifies the expectations for student behavior, the discipline management techniques that are utilized by teachers and administrators, and the consequences for student misconduct. Parents have easy access to the English and Spanish versions of the Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.

PROJECT SAFETY
Project safety is a district wide program focused on school safety with an emphasis on bullying and drug prevention. Anti-bullying and anti-drug lessons developed by a district-wide writing team of campus administrators and district support personnel. The lessons are taught in grades K-12 on a monthly basis.

SERVICE FOR SUCCESS
Service for Success is an opportunity developed by Student Services and the Alternative Learning Center as an option for students serving a placement at the end of the school year to complete their DAEP assignment over the course of the summer.

OPPORTUNITY FOR SUCCESS
Opportunity For Success is a District Behavioral Modification Initiative which allows students who receive ALC placements to earn hours toward assigned days through participation in community service, restorative activities and reflective exercises outside of the regular school day. These activities correlate with the offense that resulted in the ALC placement and give students relevant and specific development of replacement behaviors. Hours completed through participation in designated activities will be considered along with the student’s actual days served at the ALC. Learning activities are dedicated to growing student's awareness, connecting restorative actions to consequences, and providing enriching coping strategies.

RED RIBBON WEEK
The Red Ribbon Campaign® is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week®, held in late October each year. Schools may present a unified and visible commitment towards a drug-free community by hosting activities and wearing the symbolic red ribbon during this week.
ADMISSIONS

The Department of Student Admissions, Attendance and Transfers implements enrollment requirements pertaining to residency and guardianship rules. The team develops and provides comprehensive training for ct personnel related to policies and procedures for student admissions. In addition, assistance is provided to parents, guardians, and foreign exchange organizations in resolving issues related to admissions.
TRANSFERS

The department provides support to students, campus and district personnel, and the community regarding all aspects of the Student Transfer Process. Training is provided to campus administrators, registrars, and district support staff detailing the student transfer policies and procedures.
The attendance officers work closely with school administration and the Justice of the Peace Courts in applying truancy prevention measures. The team conducts home visits for a variety of reasons, including non-attendance, locating drop-outs, and residence checks. Attendance Officers conduct leaver code audits with secondary school registrars and high school drop-out recovery specialists to ensure accurate data for leaver code documentation are in compliance with PEIMS Data Standards for leaver codes.

FAMILIES IN TRANSITION

The Student Services Families in Transition program provides support and services to students and families that have been identified as homeless based on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. Learn more about the Families in Transition (FIT) Program.
HOMELESS ELIGIBILITY

If you have lost housing due to economic hardship, please complete a CFISD Student Residency Questionnaire to determine if you are eligible for services through the McKinney-Vento Act. Email the completed form to mckinneyvento@cfisd.net and a member of the Families in Transition (FIT) Team will contact you to discuss eligibility.
