More than 8,800 Class of 2022 CFISD graduates earn diplomas

June 1, 2022—The 12 Cypress-Fairbanks ISD graduation ceremonies held at the Berry Center from May 24-28 produced a total of 8,868 graduating seniors for the Class of 2022.

Each commencement exercise was highlighted by remarks and addresses from each campus principal and student representatives from every graduating class. Selected representatives also led the Pledge of Allegiance, while Air Force JROTC members presented the colors prior to each ceremony.

Approximately 22 Tigers graduated with their high school diploma and their associate degree from Lone Star College—CyFair, marking the first College Academy graduating class from Cypress Park. Cypress Lakes, Cypress Ridge, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools also produced College Academy graduates for the Class of 2022. 

In addition to earning their high school diplomas, approximately 199 CFISD seniors from Cypress Lakes, Cypress Park, Cypress Ridge, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools also graduated with their associate degrees from Lone Star College—CyFair through the CFISD College Academy. The Class of 2021 from Cypress Lakes marked the inaugural College Academy graduating class, with 85 students earning both their high school diplomas and associate degrees. The College Academy allows eligible students to earn an associate degree from LSC—CyFair when they graduate high school. It is designed to allow students to take a sequence of college-level courses through the LSC—CyFair dual-credit program, which simultaneously provides credit toward their high school diploma.

More than 62,000 guests attended the Class of 2022 commencement exercises, while 51,906 others watched the graduation ceremonies through the CFISD Livestream account. The live streams were viewed both across the United States and across 96 countries internationally as of June 1.

The 2021-2022 school year marked the 15th year for graduation ceremonies to be streamed live for the public.
