Coach McKinney portrait“Coach McKinney comes highly recommended as an individual of integrity, organization, and enthusiasm,” said Martin Drayton, Cypress Creek principal. “He is a life-long learner and trainer with seven professional clinic presentations to statewide coaching audiences. His top priorities will include athletic academic excellence, character and player development, collaboration and engagement with all middle school feeders, and preparing athletes for the next level. The Cy Creek athletic program is destined to continue a legacy of success, and Deveon McKinney will absolutely lead the charge.”

During his time at Cypress Ranch, the program won three district championships and was area finalist four consecutive seasons.

While in Corsicana, the varsity program was a Class 4A Division II semifinalist while winning a district championship and two bi-district finalist appearances. He helped Collins Middle School win a “Texas Big XII” district championship with an undefeated record in 2008.
